Middle East & Maghreb represent a heterogeneous region stretching from the impressive landscapes of the Sahara dunes to the Persian Gulf, not forgetting the Anatolian peninsula.
Geographically, it is incredibly diverse, with arid deserts, rugged peaks, fertile valleys watering iconic rivers such as the Nile and Tigris, and coastlines overlooking the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
Demographically, these lands are a melting pot of cultures and religions. They are home to nearly 500 million people, united and separated by their history, language, traditions and beliefs. Arabic is dominant, although a multitude of languages such as Turkish, Hebrew, Kurdish and Berber are also spoken. It is the birthplace of Islam, but is also home to the Jewish state and important Christian communities.
Its cultural and geographic wealth offers a myriad of tourist attractions. From the millenary pyramids of Egypt to the historic city of Jerusalem, passing through the impressive city of Istanbul, the exotic Marrakech or the ultramodern Dubai. Among the natural attractions, the Dead Sea, with its healing properties, and the Great Sahara Desert, with its astonishing immensity and mystery, stand out.
Every corner of this fabulous destination is a tapestry of ancient and modern, of amazing traditions and cultures. Although formally on separate continents, corresponding to North Africa and Southwest Asia, they share many elements in common.
From Morocco and the westernmost Maghreb countries, Egypt, the entire Arabian Peninsula, the Bosphorus Strait and Greater Anatolia, and the Fertile Crescent from Israel to Iraq; a wide range of cultures with a vast history, without which it is not possible to understand the present, is open to us.
