The Caribbean is famous for the 3S: Sun, Sea, and Sand. But there is much more!

The Caribbean is a region made up of island destinations in the Caribbean Sea, grouped into the Greater Antilles, Lesser Antilles and the Lucayan archipelago. A little more than 50 million inhabitants spread over 30 nations and island territories make up the heterogeneous Caribbean population.

The climate of the area is typically tropical, and Caribbean countries enjoy a great cycle that oscillates between spring and summer throughout the year; bright sunshine during the day and refreshing sea breezes at night.

This area was the first region of the American continent to be explored by Europeans, something that the traveler will see in some of the oldest cities and towns in all of the Americas. Although Spanish influence is predominant in many parts of the Caribbean, indigenous, African and non-Spanish European influences are strong and even dominant in some islands.

All this continuous mixture of cultures, local, invasive and forced, has generated an immense legacy that has been reflected in countless cultural manifestations, which have flourished in a natural environment of sublime beauty.

From Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean with its rich examples of colonial architecture, Puerto Rico or the well-known Dominican Republic, to the necklace of small volcanic islands of the Lesser Antilles such as Dominica, Montserrat or Trinidad and Tobago, each destination is unique; a unique portion of the paradise they represent as a whole.

Traditionally, tourism in this part of the world has consisted of resorts, cruises and package tours, but traveling without them is also possible, enjoying all its natural and cultural charms.
