Amboseli National Park, Kenya's wild jewel

Amboseli National Park is a prominent national park located in southern Kenya, on the border with Tanzania. It is one of Kenya's most popular tourist destinations, known for its vast grassland plains, herds of elephants and stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Covering an area of approximately 392 km², it is home to an abundance of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, lion, leopard, hyena and many more species. The area is known for its impressive elephant viewing, as the park has more than 1,000 elephants and is considered one of the best places in the world to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. In addition, the park is known for its birds, with over 400 species recorded, making it a birdwatcher's paradise.

In addition to abundant wildlife, Amboseli National Park also boasts beautiful natural landscapes, including vast grassland plains, swamps, lakes and rivers. But undoubtedly the park's most distinctive feature is the ubiquitous Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, rising to an altitude of 5,895 meters above sea level. The view of Kilimanjaro is mesmerizing, especially at sunrise and sunset, when the mountain is illuminated in a fabulous show of colors.

Along with wildlife viewing, Amboseli National Park offers a wide variety of tourist activities for visitors. Vehicle safaris are the most popular way to explore the park, allowing visitors to observe wildlife up close and appreciate its natural scenery. Walking safaris are also an interesting option for those who want to experience the park up close and personal.
